Bylaws

Preamble

We, the members of The Iron Wolf Kindred, in Nebraska, hereby associate ourselves to the promotion of the faith and cultures of our ancient ancestors of from Northern Europe through the practice of the modern Asatru and Odinism religion. We are not a racist organization, nor do we involve politics of any sort in our practices or speeches.

Article I - Name

The name of this organization is The Iron Wolf Kindred.

Article II - Corporate Purpose

Our core purpose is to promote, teach and to live the faith we call Asatru or Odinism.

Article III - Calendar

Our main points of contact and celebrations or observances will be

January 3rd for Charming of the Plow

March 20th for the High Feast of Ostara

April 15th for Sumarsdag

April 30th and May 1st for Walpurgisnacht

June 21st for Midsummer

July 4th for Founders Day

August 19th for Freyfaxi

September 23rd for Winter Finding

November 11th for The Feast of the Einherjar

December 20th through December 31st for Yule

Article IV - Council of Elders

The Council of Elders will be composed of the Founding members, And also Members that have continuously put the kindred First and have gone beyond what is expected of a member.

Article V - Officers

The officers will comprise of as follows;

A person will also be allowed to hold more than one position when needed

Article VI - Individual Membership

All are welcome to open meetings and public blots. If one wishes to become a brother or sister of the kindred they Must apply. Anyone can apply to be assigned Associate Status, Seeker Status or Probation status. One must be of some sort of European decent to be qualifiable for Full Member Status or Elder Status as following our tribalistic fashion

Article VII - Meetings

We will meet once a month minimum for Business and for group studies.

Article VIII - Elections

Elections for officer positions will be held once a year at the Yule main feast.

Article IX - Amendments

Amendments can be made by Majority vote from elders, but any full member can issue a vote.

Article X - Ethics

Our Ethics shall be described with/as the Nine Noble Virtues and The Rede Of Honor.

The Nine Noble Virtues are

* Fidelity

* Discipline

* Hospitality

* Industriousness

* Self Reliance

* Perserverance.

Rede of Honor. The Rede of Honor serves as a guideline for daily living. Ásatrúar preach and practice courage, honor, the importance of the family and ancestral bonds, strength, freedom, the preservation of kindred, and joyful, vigorous life.

■ In all that you do, consider its benefit or harm upon yourself, your children, and your people.

■ All that you do will return to you, sooner or later, for good or ill. Thus strive always to do good to others, or at least always to be just.

■ Be honest with yourself and others. This above all: to thine own self be true.

■ Humankind, especially your own family and folk, has the spark of divinity within it. Protect and nurture that spark.

■ Give your word sparingly and adhere to it like iron.

■ In the world, your first trust and responsibility should be to your own people. Yet, be kind and proper to others whenever possible.

■ What you have – HOLD!

■ Pass on to others only those words that you have personally verified.

■ Be honest with others and let them know that you expect honesty in return.

■ The fury of the moment plays folly with the truth; to keep one’s head is a virtue.

■ Know which battles should be fought and which should be avoided. Also, know when to break off conflict. There are times when the minions of chaos are simply too strong or when fate is unavoidable.

■ When you gain power, use it carefully and well.

■ Courage and honor endure forever. Their echoes remain when the mountains have crumbled to dust.

■ Pledge your friendship and your services to those who are worthy. Strengthen others of your people, and they will strengthen you.

■ Love and care for your family always and have the fierceness of the wolf in their protection.

■ Honor yourself, have pride in yourself, do your best, and forgive yourself when you must.

■ Try to be above reproach in the eyes of the world.

■ Our people should always endeavor to settle any differences among themselves quietly and peacefully.

■ If the laws of the land are beneficial to folk and family, they should be obeyed.

■ Have pride in yourself, your family, and your folk. They are your promise for the future.

■ Do not neglect your mate and children.

■ Everyone should work according to the best s/he can, no matter how small or how great. We are all in this world together, thus we must help each other along.

■ One advances individually and collectively only by living in harmony with the natural order of the world.

■ The seeking of wisdom is a high virtue. Love of truth, honor, courage, and loyalty are hallmarks of the noble soul.

■ Be prepared for whatever the future brings.

■ Life with all its joys, struggles, and ambiguities is to be embraced and lived to the fullest.

As the end of our bylaws of the Iron Wolf Kindred, let us also state all bylaws of The Asatru Alliance, both current and any amendments made here on out, will be adhered to to the fullest ability of each individual member. Failure to fulfill any of these statements will be grounds for disciplinary and/or outlawry from the Kindred, for we live and die by our oaths. Hail the Gods and Goddesses.

Preamble to the By-Laws of the Asatru Alliance

The Asatru Alliance promotes the native culture of the Northern European peoples. However, we do not practice, preach, or promote hatred, bigotry, or racism. We believe that Northern Europeans can believe and promote their own culture and heritage in a positive manner, this is expressed through our native religion. Asatru.

We do not promote or condone activities of the left or right within our religion , any manifestations of political activity is outlawed by the By Laws of the Asatru Alliance.

Simply speaking, we have banded to actively promote the ancient culture and religion of Asatru, as practiced by our ancient Northern Eoropean Ancestors, that, and nothing more.

By-Laws of the Asatru Alliance

As approved by Althing,September 21st. 2263 Runic Era

1. Asatru is the ethnic religion of the indigenous Northern European peoples.

2. The Asatru Alliance is a free association of Independent kindreds seeking to preserve and protect the ancient faith of our ancestors.

3. The Asatru Alliance is organized along tribal democratic lines, permitting the full expression of our religious opinions, opting for the sanctity of our Asatru faith.

4. The Asatru Alliance does not espouse a priest class. Each kindred is free to determine its own spiritual and tribal needs.

5. The Asatru Alliance will promote the growth of Asatru through the sponsoring of national and regional Things and Moots. We will also publish magazines and books as needed to achieve our goals.

6. A Thing Speaker will be chosen for ALThing by the host kindred(s). The Thing Speaker may convene the Thing as needed. AlThing Delegates of Record shall serve as a standing legislative body with full authority of the Thing until the commencement of the next AlThing. The Thing Speaker or any Delegate of Record can call for a caucus of delegates for suitable cause.

7. The Thing/Law Body has absolute authority in dealing with By Laws or other issues of the Asatru Alliance.

Kindreds

1. The Asatru Alliance will promote the establishment and growth of kindreds.

2. The Asatru Alliance will not interfere with the functions of kindreds unless petitioned by a majority of members of said kindred for aid.

3. Kindreds are free to apply for membership in the Alliance, or leave the Alliance, as voted upon by a majority of the subject kindred membership.

4. A kindred shall consist of at least 3 adult members and meet on a regular basis.

5. Each kindred is expected to send a delegate to the ALThing each year. No attendance, no vote. Kindreds may address the Thing by proxy.

6. Any kindred can be removed for cause by the Alliance by the majority vote of the Thing delegates after a fair hearing.

Membership

1. Any member of an Alliance kindred is a member of the Alliance.

2. Three or more individuals of the Asatru community can band together and form a kindred and apply for membership in the Alliance.

3. The Board of Directors of the Asatru Alliance shall be responsible for the screening of new kindreds. There are three levels of membership in the Alliance. Formational, Probational, and Full Voting Kindreds. Formational kindreds must send a delegate to the Thing to petition for Probational Kindred status. Probational Kindreds must attend a future AlThing and petition the Thing to attain Full Kindred status.

Approval

1. These By-Laws are to be approved or amended at each Althing.
